Meet Dr Paul Goonan
Dr Goonan grew up in Sydney and trained at the University of New South Wales graduating in 1992. Paul commenced his Specialist Anaesthesia training at Liverpool Hospital in 1994.
During his specialist training, Paul gained extensive experience in both adult and paediatric anaesthesia, obstetric anaesthesia, trauma and intensive care medicine with clinical rotations which include Paediatric Intensive Care at The Children’s Hospital Camperdown, Paediatric Emergency Transport (then known as Child Flight), Liverpool Hospital, Royal Bournemouth Hospital (UK), Poole Hospital (UK), Prince of Wales Hospital and NRMA Careflight.
As a Specialist Anaesthetist, Paul has over 20 years experience and his practice spans many areas of anaesthesia such as cardiothoracic surgery, head and neck surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery in addition to gastrointestinal and colorectal surgery, obstetric and gynaecological surgery and emergency trauma surgery.
Paul is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and a member of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists and he actively participates in ongoing medical education and professional development.
